Dr. Ahmad Hassan Bin Al Shaikh

Dr. Ahmad Hassan Bin Al Shaikh is the Executive Chairman of HBAS Group (Hassan Bin AlShaikh Group), a diversified Dubai-based conglomerate that has been shaping industries across the United Arab Emirates since 1966.

He joined the family printing business at ground level in 1984 and, through excellence and demonstrated leadership, rose to lead the entire group — today spanning companies across printing, paper converting, packaging, food and beverage, retail, craftsmanship, real estate and technology, including Nextoria Information Technology L.L.C, the company behind the markXpand, PersonaXpand and ReachXpand AI platforms and PurchoSmart, an AI conversational purchasing platform, alongside other AI conversational systems for lead tracking.

Beyond the group, Dr. Ahmad currently serves as a Board Member of the DIFC and as Chairman of Mawarid Finance, having previously served as Chairman of the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC) and as Chairman of Hawkamah, the Institute for Corporate Governance at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). He has taken leadership roles in numerous business and industry associations across academia, finance, printing and food processing. A natural leader with deep strategic and governance expertise, he is a sought-after speaker and thought leader on social and business issues.

Dr. Ahmad holds a PhD in Economics from Coventry University (UK), an MSc in Economics from the University of Dundee (UK) and a BSc in Political Science from UAE University. He lives in Dubai with his family.
